How Skill Challenges Work

Skill Challenges are the heart of DuelDonkey: short, clearly defined in-game goals that you back with an entry stake and complete in your favorite game to win real rewards. No luck, no randomness β€” just your skill.

This article walks you through the entire flow, from picking a challenge to receiving your payout. We use Clash Royale as the example throughout, but the flow is exactly the same for every game on DuelDonkey β€” only the challenges themselves change from game to game.

What is a Skill Challenge?

A Skill Challenge is a concrete goal you commit to achieving in your game within a defined scope. It always has four parts:

  • The goal β€” what you need to achieve (e.g. "Win your next 3 Trophy Road matches in a row").
  • The conditions β€” the exact rules that count, such as the game mode, the number of attempts, or extra requirements (e.g. "finish a match with 3 crowns").
  • The entry stake β€” the amount you put in to enter the challenge.
  • The reward β€” the payout you receive when you complete the challenge successfully. It is always higher than your stake and is displayed before you enter.

Because every challenge is fully defined before you start playing, there is never any ambiguity about whether you succeeded. Either you hit the goal under the stated conditions, or you didn't.

‍

The Challenge Flow, Step by Step

Step 1: Create your account and connect your game

Before you can enter a challenge, you need to:

  1. Sign up for a DuelDonkey account (you must be 18 or older).
  2. Connect your game account β€” for our Clash Royale example, that means linking your Clash Royale player tag. This connection is how DuelDonkey verifies your results automatically through the game's official API.
  3. Connect your wallet β€” link the crypto wallet you want to stake from and receive payouts to. Stakes and rewards use the currencies supported on DuelDonkey (such as USDC, ETH, and SOL); the available options are always shown in your account and on each challenge.

You only need to do this once per game. After that, entering challenges takes just a few seconds.

Playing a different game? The setup is identical β€” you simply connect the account of that game instead. Everything that follows works the same way.

Step 2: Browse and pick a challenge

Open the challenge list for your game. For Clash Royale you'll see challenges tied to specific game modes, for example:

  • Win your next 3 Trophy Road matches in a row.
  • Win a Trophy Road match with 3 crowns.

Every challenge card shows you everything you need to decide before you commit:

  • the exact goal and its conditions,
  • the game mode it applies to,
  • the entry stake required,
  • and the reward you'll receive if you succeed.

Pick the challenge that matches your confidence and your playstyle. Harder challenges come with bigger rewards relative to the stake.

Step 3: Place your stake and enter

Once you've found your challenge, choose your stake currency and confirm your entry. The stake is deducted from your connected wallet, and from this moment the challenge is live β€” your next matches in the specified game mode count toward it.

Important things to know before you enter:

  • The challenge starts with your next match. Matches you played before entering never count.
  • Only the specified game mode counts. If your challenge says Trophy Road, matches in other modes are simply ignored β€” they neither help nor hurt you.
  • Your stake is committed. Once the challenge is live, the stake is locked in for this attempt. If you complete the challenge, you receive the full reward; if you fail, the stake is lost (see below).
  • Read the conditions carefully. A "3 wins in a row" challenge ends the moment you lose; a "3 crowns" challenge only counts a match where you actually take all three crowns.

Step 4: Play your matches β€” in the game, as usual

Now switch over to the game and play. There is nothing special to do inside Clash Royale: you queue up for Trophy Road matches exactly like you always do. DuelDonkey tracks everything in the background.

For our example challenge β€” "Win your next 3 Trophy Road matches in a row" β€” that means:

  1. You win your first Trophy Road match. Progress: 1 of 3.
  2. You win the second. Progress: 2 of 3.
  3. You win the third. Challenge complete!

If you lose a match in between, the streak breaks and the challenge attempt ends (see "What happens if I fail?" below).

You can follow your live progress on your DuelDonkey dashboard at any time.

Step 5: Automatic verification via the game API

This is where DuelDonkey does the work for you. Because your game account is connected, your match results are verified automatically through the game's official API β€” for Clash Royale, that's the match history linked to your player tag. You don't need to upload screenshots, record replays, or file any proof.

As soon as the deciding match is finished, DuelDonkey checks the result against the challenge conditions:

  • Was it the right game mode? βœ”
  • Did you win? βœ”
  • Were all extra conditions met (e.g. 3 crowns, win streak intact)? βœ”

If everything checks out, the challenge is marked as completed.

Step 6: Get paid β€” instantly

The moment your challenge is verified as complete, your reward is paid out directly to your connected wallet. No waiting periods, no manual review for standard challenges, no withdrawal request needed.

Your payout arrives in the reward currency shown on the challenge card β€” always the amount you saw before entering. Which currencies are available for stakes and payouts is shown directly in your account and on each challenge; as new currencies launch on DuelDonkey, they work in exactly the same way.

You can see every stake and every payout in your account history.

‍

What Happens If I Fail a Challenge?

Not every attempt succeeds β€” that's the risk that makes the reward worth more than your stake. If you don't meet the conditions (for example, you lose the second match of a 3-win-streak challenge), the attempt ends immediately, the challenge is marked as failed, and your entry stake is lost.

A few things to keep in mind:

  • A failed attempt only ever costs the stake for that attempt β€” nothing more.
  • You can enter the challenge again (or any other challenge) right away with a new stake.
  • Progress never carries over between attempts: a new attempt always starts from zero.
  • Only ever stake what you're comfortable losing. Skill reduces the risk β€” it doesn't remove it.

‍

Fair Play

Skill Challenges only work if everyone plays fair. The following rules apply to all games and all challenges:

  • Play on your own connected account. Account sharing or letting someone else play your challenges is not allowed.
  • No manipulation. Intentionally manipulating matches, opponents, or results (e.g. win trading or deliberately dropping trophies to face easier opponents) leads to disqualification.
  • Comply with the game's own rules. Anything that violates the terms of service of the game itself (e.g. botting or modded clients) also violates DuelDonkey's rules.

Violations can lead to forfeited stakes and rewards and suspension of your DuelDonkey account.

‍

One Flow, Every Game

Everything described above β€” connect, pick, stake, play, verify, get paid β€” is identical for every game on DuelDonkey. The only thing that changes is the content of the challenges:
